Perry Pedula My
Warmblood gelding ‘Cardi’ had an unfortunate turn of events about 6 years
ago. After riding him one day he
‘tied-up’ very severely- so bad in fact, that he couldn’t walk. I had a vet assess him, and was told that I
would have to stable him 24/7, remove all grain from his diet, and that it
would be approx 6-8 months before I could ride him again... If at all. Not
long after I was introduced to Mandy and Equine MyoTherapy by another agistor
who was positive that Mandy could help Cardi. I admit
I had never heard of Myofunctional Therapy before and was sceptical but was prepared
to do anything that might give Cardi some relief. That turned out to be the best decision of my
life. Within a few weeks we started to
see a huge difference in Cardi- he was able to walk properly and was even
allowed to return to his paddock! I was
back riding him within 3 months and he was working better and more freely
than before his ‘tying up’ episode. Cardi still now receives regular maintenance
treatments and is training at Advanced level.
I don’t think this would have been possible without Mandy
Wendy BekkersI first heard of Mandy about
12 months ago when a fellow agister recommended her to me for my daughters’ 12
yr old quarter horse. Poor Mac has been around the clock a few times and his
past had caught up with him. I first dismissed the thought
of using any form of alternate therapies as I thought it’s so easy for anyone
to do a basic massage course these days and let’s face it there are a lot of
them out there!
Anyway, after a costly visit
from the vet, his advice was to retire Mac, my daughter was devastated and I
just couldn’t believe it so I did some research into all types of different
therapies and what the courses entailed. I was impressed with Myofunctional
therapy and this led me back to Mandy. The difference Mandy has made to both
Mac and to my daughters’ life has been truly impressive. Mac is now in work and
going well thanks to Mandy’s therapy and sound advice. On a more recent note our
Arab pulled his wither and Mandy thought we may have to call a chiropractor but
after a Myotherapy treatment from Mandy and a follow up with her Equissage
machine he’s back to normal and going well. I never thought Mandy would have
been able to get near my ‘Nervous Nelly’ Arab with her machine but with her
calm and gentle manner he was so relaxed that after 5mins I thought he was
going to fall over!
I have found Mandy to be of
true benefit to us and her advice invaluable. Do yourself a favor, save yourself
time and money and ring Mandy.
Special thanks to
Mandy of Equine HarmonyI would like to express my gratitude for
all the help and attention that Mandy has given me and my laminetic horse Bingo
over the last 10 months Bingo, a 15.3hh quarter horse was stricken
with cronic laminitis in August 07, a disease that i would not wish on any animal.
Mandy's fortnightly myotherapy treatments have helped improve blood flow to the
hooves and relieved muscle soreness.
Mandy also recommended, and worked in
consultation with specialist Farrier and Veterinary treatment and although a long and difficult process Bingo should
make a full recovery. Bingo will continue to be treated by Mandy
with a combination of
Myotherapy and
Equissage.Paula Cheesman
